I have seen many people talking about this. What exactly is that and do we have this on XPs 1640 ?!

And I almost positive the XPS 16 does not have it. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if there were some mini-Linux distros made exactly for this purpose that would provide the exact same functionality.

My Vostro had Media Direct. And it blowed, that thing takes almost longer than windows to boot up and you got less features.
-
Great to know that Dell finally figured out nobody wants Mediadirect.
-
Ya, media direct sucked. I always preferred to boot into Windows, and now with Windows 7 booting isn't a long process anymore anyway..
-
I am guessing it's something like HP quickplay !

It is on my m1530 and the only time I have accessed it is by accidentally hitting the media direct button instead of the power button. It is such a waste of disk space. Good riddance to it.

That was what happened to my HP laptop, geezz it started the laptop and ran the freaking quickplay. Lucky to not have it in this XPS =D
Do we have MediaDirect on XPS 1640 ?
