Do people usually remove the stickers that come on the lower-right-hand corner of your keyboard saying "Windows Vista" and "Intel Centrino" and such?

I did remove them off my XPS M1530 after about 6 months of owning it. Eventually just got tired of those ugly stickers covering up the M1530's sleek brushed aluminum.

What do you use to remove the residue? I'd use goo b gone, but it's not the best product to apply to sensitive surfaces (it's fine on painted surfaces though).

On my M1530 I simply kept rubbing my thumb on the residue till it was all off. Of course I did not have to worry as much about the surface as the brushed aluminum on the M1530 is pretty much scratch resistant. On a Studio XPS 16 I'd be a bit more worried.

If that's your biggest issue than you're doing ok.

I did it for my XPS 1340 and never looked back. It looks much better. Now I just wish I could keep my fingerprints off of the laptop...

    Thanks for the guide!

Sometimes I do - sometimes I don't. I found the xps 1530 looked better without the stickers because of the brush aluminum, but the sxps 1340 looks better with the white stickers to break up all the black. It's all about styling!

Use a hair dryer to heat it up and then take it off and it will not leave any residue, but be careful you don't want to melt the plastic

Removed mine off my 1330 about a month after buying it. Like it much better without them.

I just peel them off and use Isopropyl alcohol to clean the gunk right off.

on my sxps 13's I got rid of all the stickers on the front and back.

aswell I relocated the sevice tag sticker to inside the battery bays.

the minimalistic clean look is so much nicer

On my Studio 15, I removed the Windows Vista and Intel Core 2 Duo stickers that came with the system, and replaced them with an Intel Centrino 2 and Graphics by ATi sticker, as well as an "Evil Inside" sticker, a parody of the "Intel Inside" logo. :p

I don't mind the Centrino sticker, but I do dislike having the Windows Vista sticker on there - I removed it and installed XP 64-bit, and now I run Windows 7. I don't really fancy having to deal with the gunk left on afterwards though, I've always had bad luck removing that stuff.
