I have an M1330 with 2 years completecare left.
Would I lose my warranty if i open the laptop and add a 3rd antenna behind the LCD?

I have an LED screen so I only got two antennas !

Some have the LED screen. Not sure if those have three antennas though.

It is an led backlight rather than a ccfl backlight LCD screen. No matter the backlight it is still an lcd.

Wops Sorry. I meant I have an LED Screen with only two antennas.

If I open the back of the LCD and put a 3rd antenna and run a wire to the wireless card. Do I void the warranty?

This thread makes me want a laptop with CRT option. Like a remake of the old Compaq lunchbox computers.

    Thanks BlackRussian :)

I installed mine and found no range improvement in G, maybe even a bit of a decrease.

Waiting for my N router to come in

Its more for the N network I found it to be better for my locataion.
You can run the wire if long enough to the center where the rubber ring is on the back of the lid then route along the left side of lid or as I have done was to run from bottom left coner of lid then into the the laptop.

What I did was put it right on top of the XPS ring and ran the wire down to the right where the blue wire went in (only hole for wire to pass threw from LCD bezel) along the right side down into the keyboard hole.

    Hahahaha I'll take that back!
I just realized now I can now pick up my friends wireless at "fair" signal. where I rarely saw it and it would be as "poor". (3 houses down)
    It's also stable !!!
