I really do not want optimus on my laptop computer, almost every computer that i am interested either has optimus or switchable graphics in there without having the ability to disable them.

So i really want to know if there is optimus in the ivy bridge versioin of the XPS 17 inch laptop (3D), if there isn't, i guess my only option is to buy macbook and run windows from there.

    Hi,

If you configure the system with a 3D screen, it will not have the Optimus technology. The motherboards that are used with the 3D configuration has the Optimus technology disabled from the hardware level.

    I hope this information helps.

    Thanks and regards,
