Does anyone know if the XPS m1730 will purposely throttle down performance if it is not both plugged in with battery connected? I could see down-throttling with just battery perhaps but it seems less likely to degrade performance if plugged in without a battery. For my mod, though, I intend to connect a better power supply to where the battery would otherwise be (not using PSU) and I'm afraid that it wouldn't run at maximum potential simply because it doesn't APPEAR to be plugged in as far as it knows. Searching online for this info seems to yield only upset people with the battery and power supply :p. (part of the reason I'm making this mod!)
