Like whenever I am typing, it will go back a lot, for example if i am typing

sally sells shells at the seashore
on the dell studio it will go like
sally at the seashore sells shell

right where i get to shell, it will go back to in front of sally

it does stuff like that, does anybody have this problem?

Also, can anybody recommend a cooler for this studio xps 16? this heat is unbearable.

Can you call up dell and ask for replacement for this?

    This is unbearable for typing.

Are you sure your wrist isn't brushing against the touchpad?

    I don't have this issue.

Just to be sure, disable your touchpad the next time you test this.

If the problem persists, contact Dell Support.

even the slightest of palm touches hand move the cursor and start it typing else where

i have this issue even more with my latitude as it has a pointing stick between g and h keys , but i disabled that and it isnt so bad but im sure in the mouse options there is a option to disable trackpad inputs while typing

    on some mouse drivers anyways

i am having keyboard issues but its a bit harder to explain.

I notice when i play final fantasy xi online ...

Whenever i press Alt or Ctrl , its supposed to bring up a menu where i can choose to activate some macros.

but a lot of times, randomly , the alt and ctrl buttons will not react at all... i found out that when this happens i actually have to press the "windows" button plus either the alt or ctrl button for it to work. at first i thought maybe there was some sort of num lock feature that was affecting the keyboard but i have found no such thing.

    so i dont know. =/

i have a similar problem on my XPS M1530

it happens when i type my username and password for whatever site( forums, email, etc)

I HAVE DISABLED THE TOUCHPAD but it is still happening.

when i type my username everything is fine
when i start typing my password ,though i put in the forst 2 or 3 characters than the cursor automatically selects everything in that box and if i dont pay attention the next keystoke will replace the 2 o3 keystrokes i have type already

i read somewhere that pressing the INSERT key changes the mode the keyboard operates. but it still makes no difference for me. I don't know what is the problem.

Replacement or maybe even a refund. Did you try a factory image restore? I had some problems with my first system...although jumping through the customer service hoops is frustrating, I have been satisfied with my replacement system. If you got time to kill, you could try tech support.
