    Hi again :)

My Dell XPS 17 L702X laptop's configuration is as follows:

    Processor: Intel i7 2630qm processor
    Motherboard: HM67 chipset
    RAM: 6GB 1333MHz currently (4x1 and 2x1)

Will my laptop be able to support RAM having frequency of 1600MHz and above?

    Thanks

No, RAM that goes over 1333MHz is not supported and locked in XPS series. It has been discussed many times.

And MOST 502x users have reported it being locked too. It appears there are a few XPS 15 out there that might be working at the higher RAM speeds, or they might just be reporting it as higher while not actually running at the higher speed. I've yet to see any such people demonstrate that it is in fact running at the higher speed, and regardless, most people can't even get that far. The 702x is a no-go for sure, not seen a single soul say they got it to work.

Maybe it's wrong, but i have seen only XPS L502X with i7 2820QM works at 1600/1866MHz.
