    Hello

I have a stupid question: does the XPS M1530 work if you use only the AC adapter, with the battery detached? I would like to know this since I plan on buying the Zalman NC2000 or NC1000 and I have the 9 cell battery which will be removed when using the cooler. (I don't have the laptop atm)

    Best regards,
    GF

    Yeah, why not?

I mean of course it will work with only the AC adapter... but beware of any power disruption'... :)

Ah I meant, if there is a power shut down or power cut or whatever you call it, while working on the laptop, then without the battery, you might lose unsaved data and such...

What fonduekid meant about power disruption is when you remove the battery from a laptop you are basically turning it into a desktop with no backup power capabilities. So, if like a freak tornado suddenly takes out your local power station and your power goes out your computer will instantly shut down similar to pulling the plug on your desktop while it's turned on.
