Does the Studio XPS 13 have an accelerometer (for the HDD) built in?

Ive noticed that sometimes when the laptop is subject to very sudden movement, it will make a beeping sound. I am guessing this must be some sort of accelerometer that senses it? I dont hear the HDD heads parking though. If so, is there a program or a way to monitor its status? The hard drive that came with the laptop has an accelerometer to protect it from drops/extreme shock/whatever, but I swapped it out for a 500gb that does not have any built in shock protection.

Perhaps if the Studio XPS series does have a built in accelerometer, then there is a program that could send a signal to automatically park the heads of the hard drive when there is a big shock? Thoughts?

AFAIK the only accelerometer (i.e. free fall sensor) and related firmware are the HD.
