I've read on the poor quality Samsung monitor panels that Dell have been using. I found out I got one made from Samsung (MONITOR\SEC3255). They say the LG monitors are much better, but do they have one for my laptop (wuxga 1920x1200 resolution)? Can anyone confirm this?

I'm sure the Samsung ones are fine. If you're looking to find grainy screens, then you'll find them...
And LG screens are not necessarily better. My 1420's LG screen is very grainy compared to my friend's screen. -
Thanks for the input. I noticed another thread asking the same question.

Only time will tell I guess. -
I posted this in another thread but LG does have a a wuxga lcd. I don't know if Dell is using them, but you can find it on ebay, etc. It has also a popular upgrade option for mac users. The exact model number is LP154WU1 (TL)(B2). I considered ordering one myself before I swapped the wuxga from my old laptop. You can google it.

I think it might not, as I think this display that you quoted fits a different "family" of Dell 15.4" WUXGA's.
From what I've read, these are compatible with each other:
Inspiron 8600, 6000, Latitude D800
And these are compatible with each other:
Inspiron 1520, 1521, 1525, Latitude D820, D830, XPS M1530
Vostro 1000, 1500, 1510
I'm really interested in learning what will fit the 1530, because here in Australia the WUXGA panel isn't available and I'd like to purchase and fit my own off ebay. I'm just not sure which ones I can choose from. Would love some help, it sounds like you switched in a WUXGA from your old laptop - into your new 1530? What laptop was that, and did you need to use the inverter from the old laptop too? Any help appreciated. -
Well, here is the thread that I posted with the procedure:

In short, I took the wuxga out of an old Inspiron 9100. I know that there have been about 3 types of connector setups out there. I've opened up a few lcds including a thinkpad G40, Toshiba Sattellite pro and a few dells. They all had the same connections. It seems that it has become more standardized as of late. The more common problem is the mounting frame.
The LG wuxga appears to be in the same family:

You may want to do further research though.
Does the XPS M1530 WUXGA (1920x1200) have LG monitor panels?
