When I close the lid of my laptop (I have it set to go to sleep) it makes the same noise as if you were disconnecting a USB device, and when I open the lid and it turns back on from sleep it makes a noise as if you are connecting a USB device.
I was hoping some m1330 owners could test this out on their laptop and see if it does the same. The volume on your laptop has to be set on the high side, about 3/4 of the way.
Thanks
EDIT: No, I don't have anything plugged into the USB ports either.

it's the wireless card, if you want to stop that
you should cancel SLEEP mode when you shut down
your screen in the power options menu. -

Vista pulls the power from all internal and external USB ports while entering sleep. The Bluetooth device and the FPR are on internal USB ports, hence the noise, since they are disconnected and connected while entering and leaving sleep respectively. If you have a FPR, you also would have noticed a lag in initializing the device, when waking up. Same reason.

But I am wondering if any of your m1330's do the same because, for some reason, I don't recall my notebook playing that sound before I did a fresh install of Vista.
Oh and I don't have bluetooth on my m1330. Plus, what is FPR? -
Oh and my e1505 which does have bluetooth doesn't make this sound. Weird.

My 1330 does this also
it's perfectly normal -
Hmmmm...that's weird. I just put my computer to sleep two different ways: 1) by pressing the power button 2) by pressing the sleep button
and neither method produced that sound. It seems to only happen when I close the lid (which is my preferred method of putting it to sleep, plus it is second nature).
Does your m1330 makes this noise?
