Ok so I finally am going to get to hooking up my m1530 to my TV/receiver 5.1 combo, but I am wondering how to get the 5.1 into my receiver. I don't have HDMI on the receiver, and only on the TV. I can use HDMI through the TV, but the tv will only pass through stereo sound through its audio out. I'd like to just hook up the computer's audio out directly to the receiver, but don't really understand how to do it and what adapters are needed.

I came across this on another post from long ago:

I don't really understand what is meant by 'just connect 3 3.5mm to RCA converter cables and hook it up to the receiver'? Are these 1:1 cables, which would give me 3 RCA slots? Or do I need a 3 3.5mm in to 2 RCA out adapter? Where do I plug in the RCAs after I convert? A simple R/L red/white rca connection won't give me 5.1.

Anyone have a bit more of an explanation?
