I just updated my system to Windows 8 not too long ago (about 4-5 months), and I recently discovered a couple yellow exclamation marks in my Device Manager.

One is for the Intel USB-IF xHCI USB Host Controller. So I went to the intel site, they determined I needed the driver, so I downloaded and installed, still there.

The other is for OTHER DEVICES. Downloaded chipset, and card-reader drivers, no joy there either. Also used the Dell utility, and it just sat there spinning all day and didn't go anywhere.

I also noticed that I've got a whopping 2 USB ports of my 4 that work. I actually have never plugged anything into the right side port, or the one closest to the power cable in the 3 years I've owned the laptop until just the other day, which prompted me to check the device manager.

I'm going to update my BIOS, I'm on A17 and see if that does anything.

    Thanks for any help!

One will probably be Renesas USB 3.0 driver (for the usb ports in the back of the laptop). Not sure which ones now, please search in L02x owners thread. The other might be for the Dell freefall sensor.

    Thanks!

I installed the driver, but it didn't get rid of the stuff!

The driver did need to be updated however, so that was something.

I'll search the thread and keep on looking!
