Hey guys I have the XPS M1530 and the drivers that came with it are quite outdated.

I went on the Dell website and the drivers on there are even more outdated than the ones that came with my laptop.

Where can I download drivers that are made for the 8600m series and are compatible with the M1530?

    Cheers!

    Please take a look here...

(its right on the first page, the thread :) )

Btw, stick with Dell drivers :) You can get lots of drivers from laptopvideo2go.. But I prefer / recommend sticking with drivers from dell :) As for the card, some recent ones are not listed in the M1530 drivers n downloads section.. but they could be found in M1330.. still confirm before you use :) Cheers and good luck.

PS., what driver version do you have right now? I recommend getting in 174.31 and using it for a while, seeing how it performs. AFAIK, its really good :)

I'm also using the 174.31 (came with the laptop).

After going through the link to the thread you provided me, it seems like there is no real reason to update the drivers because it looks like they are the most reliable drivers.

I'm used to updating the drivers on my 8800GT every other week or so from Guru3D but it seems like it won't be necessary with the 8600M GT.

As always, its a personal choice of the end user :) But I personally wouldn't do too much of changes every other week.. as long as something is fine, why go about messing with it? Anyway, good luck :)
