Oh sh.......... :-( Sorry for u mate. That looks bad. (by the way, for the laptop, i guess its the 'left' hinge :)..) Call up dell and try asking them if they can replace. Is there any kind of accident support or warranty thing u got your laptop with? Hope u get it fixed and next time be careful buddy.. this is a such a nice laptop and I take care of mine like I would take care of a baby :)

And I would suggest talking extensively (and nicely) with Dell (I dont know if this would be covered with permium support) before you let some third party lay their hands on this.. good luck.

Yea. As posted, if you got accidental protection that's covered. Although I don't know what the terms of the accidental coverage plan are. If they only cover one damaged computer it might be worth it to try to patch it up with epoxy or something as long as it still works. Save your accidental coverage for when you spill water all over your computer and actually break it :).

If you have Complete Cover/Complete Care/ Whatever it's called in your part of the world, they will replace the lid. If you don't, they'll ask you to pay, since this is user damaged.

Mhm, I bought it in Japan, now using it in Belgium. I just took the standard warranty, not the 300dollar one :)
Let's hope accidental damage is included then...

If you bought your laptop on some special savings event it probably isn't. Usually the way they take $200+ off of the cost of the laptop is by taking off the accidental damage and a year or two off of the warranty. In any case, it's always worth it to call and ask.

I didn't buy it with some special savings event, the yen was cheap enough at the time anyway, it was already 200euro cheaper than here in Belgium :)

It seems I need use my Japanese warranty, and as far as I can read, Japan doesn't offer the accidental damage warranty... Ah well, guess I know what I'll be working for this week...
