In general... Hit F8 or F12 (I can't remember which) during the boot sequence to bring up the manual boot options menu. See ct your USB stick from there.

If your USB device still won't boor, then its because it isn't properly configured as a recognized boot device. If this happens, you somehow screwed up when you created a bootable USB device.

On a more specific note.... What do you mean when you say you have "OSX" on a USB stick? What are you trying to do?

Uhhh, ok. That wasn't very helpful.

When you say "dual boot"... are you trying to dual-boot into OSX (hackintosh) using an external USB flash drive? I've never heard of that before.

In any case, I can almost guarantee that it's a problem with the software on the USB flash drive.

    1) I don't even know if it's possible to boot into OSX off of a USB flash drive. I've never heard of that before.
    2) Even if it is, I don't know if it's possible to do it on a Dell XPS 13. Usually, Hackintosh requires a very specific make / model / BIOS of motherboard or laptop.

If you really want to determine if the problem is with your laptop or the software on the USB drive, do a test.

    - Try using another bootable USB flash drive. You can use a Windows setup DVD that was pushed onto a USB flash drive (using the appropriate utility to create the USB flash drive), or a freeware program like Clonezilla or G-Parted that has installers to create bootable USB flash drives. The purpose of this step is to verify that your Dell XPS 13 can boot off of USB flash drives at all.

    - Try using your Mac OSX bootable flash drive on another computer. The purpose of this step is to verify if you've correctly created a bootable USB flash drive that can be used from a non-Apple x86 computer.
