You need to buy the DA300 adapter to get the ports.

    Hello all,

I have a question, I was thinking to get a Dell XPS 15 4K OLED because I think the OLED display look amazing and I was so close, but then I sow this new dell XPS 13 2v1 with 4K IPS display and I really love how small is it. Can someone please tell me how good is the 4K display ? Is there a huge different between the IPS 4 K and OLED please ? How you lads like this machine ?
    Thanks for any advise.
    Have a nice day :)

The 4k screens on the XPS 15 are excellent. The OLED is excellent for watching movies.

Not gaming laptops so these are good screens for content creation and consumption, respectively IMHO.

The most tempting spec of this Dell 7390 is the screen - 4k 500 nit 16:10 panel that actually has proper anti-glare! Any chance of a similar panel making it to the XPS 13? I've looked at both in stores and the 4k screen on the standard XPS 13 is dim, washed out and overly reflective when compared to the 2-in-1.

Has anyone repasted or attempted repasting the laptop?

As this has become the 7390 owners thread, I can't believe there's not more action here. Is no one buying these? I love mine, that being said it's really a whole lot like my 7360 even though I doubled my RAM from 8 to 16GB and went i5 to i7. Of course, all I do is surf and email :) and I never bend it over and use it as a tablet. At least not yet. It was just that the 7360 was going out of warranty and I like to keep my laptops with warranty. This one has 4 years including Complete Care as they had 4 years for the price of 3, so I'll be good for a while. Even in battery life, I don't see much difference. Kinda disappointed at that going to the latest 10nm processor. It's all good though. I'm happy with it :)

I just bought a FHD+ 7930 2-in-1 with 16GB of ram and the 512GB sdd. I detest buying something with a soldered SSD but I keep hearing how amazing the laptop is. I'll give it a shot and see if it's worth switching to.

I would love to get one of these but with everything soldered on the mainboard, memory and hard drive it is still really expensive to get it maxed out in Canada, I am hoping that the price will drop soon but to max it out with the 1TB ssd, 32 gb ram with 3 year pro warranty it's almost $4000.00 just too expensive, I could go with the 500 gb SSD that would drop it $200.00.

I would look on the Outlet, I saved quite a bit going that route.

Thanks I will look but I am in Canada so not sure if they ship here and we don't have the same outlet for Dell in Canada as the US does.

Most likely the move to soldered storage and made the 13 inch XPS Dellbook more as a smarthphone. Dell thought the idea with soldered Storage was a good/great idea and never asked what the customers wanted.

If it doesn't have enough room for removable RAM and SSD, then it doesn't have enough room for respectable thermal management components either. Who are the dumb-dumbs that dream up disposable trash on this order of magnitude?

At least you'll get back replaceable ssd for the 2020 models. Some finally started use their heads at Dell (the former CEO/VP for this mess have quit the job) and added in ssd upgradeability. Not that this will make the thermals any better or you'll get back swappable ram.

Yes they've gone the way of the macbook, but it still fits the bill for some people. I'm going to give it a shot and see what I think. My hope is that it will work well for taking it into patient encounters as my Aero15 is a little bulky for that. Chances are I won't have it for more than a few months, but the same can be said for any laptop that I've owned in the past...

I have been sitting on getting two for my wife and I. We are going to be going full tilt this year with our new ventures and these computers fit the bill for us perfectly. Hers and mine will be the same except for the 4k screen on mine and her white color. Can't wait to order then in another month or two.

Does anyone know if they will increase the travel in the keyboard for 2020? :)
