    Hey guys!

my nvidia 6800 ultra go gpu is only one step away from breaking down.

As far as I know I can only replace the gpu with the same type, is that correct?

And last but not least: does anybody know where I can get a cheap, working gpu replacement?
Over here in Germany Dell is charging about 450 Euros what would translate to about 600 usd...crazy!

I am willing to spend about 100 usd because I really love this machine although I got a new Alienware m18x coming in the next few days

Wait till you get your new M18x. The 170 will be catching dust bunnies...

It's really not worth it as you can see by the replacement price.

    Agreed.

    Isn't the 6 series from 2004?

yeah i bought the notebook in early 2005.

But I tell you, this machine is still faster than i5 powered desktop at work! :D

Maybe I can get a damaged XPS in the us..transport to germany would be very easy
