Recently bought a dell 5530 card, installed GPS enabled drivers and wireless manager - everything works smooth now. The were some issues with wireless manager I didn't like and had to fix. So I thought that it might be usefull for someone else.

    What I've solved for now:
    1. WL didn't allowed me to lock UMTS mode (sim card specific issue). When I tried to select "HSPA/UMTS only" it just showed me empty message box.
    2. WL didn't start in mode.
    3. There were no possibility to quickly switch from 2G to 3G and back, and to switch on GPS.

Didn't had much time to spend on it, so chose most simple (and dirty) way:
1 and 2 was resolved with code modification (might be illegal :)): removed restrictions on band switch and made it always start minimized.
3 - with custom buttons, icons and some scripts.

Here how it looks now (low signal :)):

2G and 3G buttons switch frequency, third button turns on GPS.

    Contents of package:
    1. Modified WL, just copy paste it over your one.
    2. Icons.
    3. Scripts:
    a. 2g.js - turns on 2G mode, given you have modem on com7.
    b. 3g.js - does the same for 3g.
    c. gpsOn.js - turns on GPS stream.

To execute these scripts from WL you need to set launch button as follows:
    Application Folder and Filename: C:\Windows\System32\wscript.exe
URL / Application parameters: absolute path to desired script file.
Buttin icon: icon of your choice.

    Here it is: http://www.mediafire.com/file/jtzjlmdmyzo/WirelessManager.zip

That's all, hope it'll help someone else.

Hi Frippi, I really hope you're still on this forum! Any chance you can re-upload your WirelessManager.zip file somewhere as the link seems dead.

    Cheers!

If my Wireless Manager does not recognize my modem (Dell Wireless 5530)... this modification may recognize it?

would really appreciate some help on this...

is there a way to setup dialup in windows 7 to use the modem instead?
