    Estimated Date of Delivery Confusion

    So I ordered my 1530 on the 28, and the EDD says August 8th. However the check mark still only says that the laptop is in production. I used the dell chat to see when I would actually be getting the laptop and they said the EDD really meant the shipping date, that it would be packaged tomorrow, and that I would be recieving it late next week. A few minutes later, I chose to call and talk to a customer service rep, and asked about my order. They gave me a tracking number for Purolator. So my question is, in order to have a tracking #, does my package have to already have been sent?

    Yeah I think that means that it will be shipped soon, but hasn't yet gone out the door. :)

    so is the EDD really the shipping date? i was under the impression that it was the estimated day I would recieve the laptop

    Well I ordered mine on 7/31 and it's supposed to arrive 8/11. That seems pretty reasonable and in accordance with your delivery too. You should get an email that says it has been shipped. You can also use your tracking number on Purolator to find out where it is. Mine's currently in transit in the U.S.

    I ordered mine July 9 and I just go it today. Love it though and I didn't get the free Creative earbud headphones (maybe not included anymore) and the metallic "S" in XPS logo on the top of the notebook is missing. I'd send it in but it's too much trouble for such a tiny aesthetic defect
