    Hi all,

Like many, I think the new Dell XPS 15 and 13 look amazing. HOWEVER, living in Europe, our options for customization is quite limited.

That's why I created a petition to show Dell that there is a demand for more options, such as the bigger battery and the non-touchscreen. Please consider signing it :)

Also, if you do, remember to write in the comment section what model you would like to buy, e.g. I really want the i7 FHD with 512 GB SSD and 84 WHr battery.

Dell XPS: give us more customization options in Europe!

Seeing how glossy the 4K display is makes me even more sad that (at least right now) it is not possible to buy the FHD instead. I seriously don't get why you'd want a laptop screen with touch. With something like a Surface Book it makes sense, but a normal laptop?

The 4K display is more expensive, uses more battery and is much more glossy than the FHD matte screen. Please, Dell, let us buy the FHD screen instead (with good specs)!

Oh, yeah. I hope enough people will support the petition, so we can at least get the goal of 100 and show it to Dell Europe.

Almost there. Just a few more. I would really appreciate if you'd sign (even if you are currently outside Europe) :)

Sorry for bumping, but we just need 11 more supporters and then the petition is done.

Do you really think Dell would change their marketing policy just because of this petition?

Don't know. Call me naive if you want, but if you never try, you'll never know :)

I've signed this petition. But I'm wondering if its normal practice for Dell to add more configurations later. Did they do this with the XPS 13?

Thanks for getting the petition up, guys - I'm in the same boat as everyone else in this thread. I'm number 103 on the list - and if I had seen it sooner, I would have signed up about 10 days ago.

That said, a question about alternatives: My mother lives in the US, so I could buy a US model and have it shipped to her, then forwarded to me. HOWEVER, I have two questions about this:

    - Does Dell respect the guarantee on US machines in Europe for these models?

    - I've used the US keyboard in "international mode" before, and I could live with it. But I'd prefer to use a Swiss German keyboard. Do you guys know whether it's possible to get country specific keyboards to replace the original?

    Thanks, everybody! :D

No idea. Haven't bought a Dell computer in many years. HOWEVER, I just got this response on Twitter today:

@Wikzo Hi Gustav, thanks for reaching out. We're gathering some more information on this and will get back with you shortly. ^PT - @DellCaresPRO ( https://twitter.com/DellCaresPRO/status/667462978271342596)

I also got this a few days ago:
@Wikzo I mailed your feedback to the XPS product line manager, so we will have a look at it, but cannot guarantee any changes ^Karina - @DellLytter ( https://twitter.com/DellLytter/status/666542666268676096)

You can help by spreading the word and sharing the link with your local Dell department (via Facebook, Twitter, mail, online chat, etc.) :)

The only thing I know is that you can only buy it with an American keyboard via Dell.com. I specifically asked if I could get a Danish keyboard. I knew it was a long shot, but no harm in asking, right?

    I. Can't. Believe. It.

I just checked dell's Swiss website to see whether there is any change in the models they're offering. And, as a matter of fact ... there is. But not the good kind of change.

As of this morning they don't offer ANY 1080 screens at all. If you want an xps 15, it's 4k or nothing.

I was told by a Dell UK rep that new configuration options were coming after Christmas. He couldn't or wouldn't provide any dates though.

    Good news though :)

Oops sorry, it wasn't clear at all.
I want to buy one, but I don't know if I should wait or not for new FHD options

I would rather wait a month or two than buying a computer that I am not 100% satisfied with (because of the battery time) that I will have for years to come :)

If you can wait, you should wait :)

But personally I need a new computer before february because I will travel in Europe for 6 months, and I won't be able to buy the XPS with the right keyboard (a French one) or it will be complicated to order one with it.

Ah, I see. That's a tough dilemma. Don't know if it will make it easier for you (probably not), but keep in mind that the current delivery times in Europe are not super good (10-30 days, according to Dell's websites) and might be even worse in late January :\

No, it won't make it easier :p
This is why I should not wait too long to make a decision.
