    Hi everyone!

Is there anything that physically holds expresscard accessories in the slot once you push them in?

I have a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi card that I use in my 1330. Ever since I got the motherboard replaced due to the Nvidia issue, it seems that the card doesn't say in as securely as it did before. I can push it in just fine, and the spring mechanism compresses as it should (and releases and pushes the card out when I press again to release it). But when the card is fully seated and I, say, pull the headphone plug out of the card's headphone jack, the whole card comes out! I used to be able to pull the headphones out and the card would stay in place. And if I have the "blank" inserted in the slot, all I have to do is tilt the 1330 on its side, and it just falls out. So is there anything that's supposed to "grab" these things?

It's just a nuisance, but I was wondering if there's anything I might look for.

It sounds like the case may not be put back together correctly. You could try disassembling it partway, and reassembling it yourself. Or send it into Dell. ;)

getting to the expresscard slot almost involves disassembling th whole laptop... if it is really troublesome, ask for a tech

There isn't any lock inside the slot.. for the 1330.. It is held in just by friction.. I guess when your laptop was taken apart.. the express card cage probably got bent outwards.. and hence doesn't grip whatever is inside it..

Cool; that's what I thought, but wasn't sure. I can work on that.
