Can you turn off the LED lights on the case so it does not look like a flashy laptop?

I want a clean look. No lights, no shinny, just a laptop.

Im pretty sure that it can be done in the BIOS. But if you dont want a flashy laptop, why get the M1710?

The reason that it costs so much is because it has these crazy lights and colourful lid and stuff. Consider a different laptop if you want a plainer looking one.

Simply put price, warranty, and parts. I looked allover and could not find anything that compaired. Complete care was a major selling point.

If Dell sold simple laptops loaded to the hilts then I would have bought it.

I really do not like showy laptops or anything for that matter. Sleeper is the way to go in my eyes.

Check in Dell's Quickset - you should have an option in there to turn it off.

Why not look into the e1705? Same chassis, MOBO (if you get the dedicated gpu) and the 7900gs is quite a nice card.
