Can you turn off the LED lights on the case so it does not look like a flashy laptop?
I want a clean look. No lights, no shinny, just a laptop.

Im pretty sure that it can be done in the BIOS. But if you dont want a flashy laptop, why get the M1710?
The reason that it costs so much is because it has these crazy lights and colourful lid and stuff. Consider a different laptop if you want a plainer looking one. -
Simply put price, warranty, and parts. I looked allover and could not find anything that compaired. Complete care was a major selling point.
If Dell sold simple laptops loaded to the hilts then I would have bought it.
I really do not like showy laptops or anything for that matter. Sleeper is the way to go in my eyes. -
Check in Dell's Quickset - you should have an option in there to turn it off.

i think the flashy lights is kinda cool, to a degree. strobe lighty with techno music when your hammered.

Why not look into the e1705? Same chassis, MOBO (if you get the dedicated gpu) and the 7900gs is quite a nice card.
