So i load up my computer today and i feel it being hotter than usual. I feel around the cover and on the left side of the keyboard, the laptop is burning hot. I don't hear my fan spinning, is that why? how do I fix this?

try to look at the temperature with a software like "SpeedFan" or "HWMonitor"

Did you check to see if the fan is jammed? Also, do you regularly clean your fans?

101, is that Celsius? If so, you need to turn off the machine NOW.

ok so i turned off my computer again and the fan started blowing again. idling my temperature is around 63 and playing graphically demanding games its at around 75-80. is this okay?

also, my computer was at 101-103 for quite a while until i realized it. will this cause permanent damage to my laptop?

Turn off the computer and clean out any dust in the unit with a can of compressed air and a vacuum cleaner.

Yeah, seriously, idle temps of 60 is a very bad sign.

If after the cleaning the temps are still high, consider investing in a notebook cooler.
