Has anyone else come across this ? I have an XPS 15z and it look me ages to figure out which process was preventing my screen saver / monitor off power settings kicking in.

I finally found the culprit, it's the FATrayAlert.exe (when I kill it the Windows Power Settings work fine). The trouble is I like Fast Access for login, so don't want to disable the main service altogether. However, I have unticked the boxes for Power Settings and Alert tray in the Fast Access config screen, but for some reason they are getting ignored (or at least they are not stopping the alert tray program from running).

Anyway, for anyone else having similar issues, what I had to do was remove the FATrayAlert.exe from the Fast Access root folder. Unless you do this, the FAService will always start the tray alert program.
