Dell has done me the lovely favor of messing up my dell.com account. Because I had a service call on my computer while living abroad, they transferred my service tag to Europe. Now I can't log into the dell downloads to install fast access. I noticed since I just upgraded to Windows 7 and was looking for the installed. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get it?
Dell tells me they can't fix my account until I move back to the U.S., and of course, the dell downloads in Europe says my account is invalid since my account is in the U.S. The best part is, it also locks me out of dell chat option and the driver downloads, on BOTH the US and European dell sites.![]()

You will need to obtain it via Dell. Try escalating your service call via the Unresolved Issues link on the Dell.com main page. There should be no reason they cannot resolve this once you have provided them with whatever they need to confirm you are the owner of the system.
Unresolved Issues Link HERE
Use the tech support link and list your last case#. If you aren't getting anywhere with the Tier 1 rep, ask for a supervisor. -
cool, thanks. i spent 56 minutes on tech support with them just for the guy to tell me i had to deal with the european support number instead. its such a mess. im worried less about reinstalling fast access than i am about making sure they dont mess up my account and warranty. they had it in the system as a transfer of ownership, scary stuff. i sent a mail to the guy who handled my case locally to ask him to fix what went wrong; after that ill go direct to escalation.

oh, and of course the tech support wasnt willing to just mail me the files in the meantime. he went so far as to tell me if the problem wasnt resolved they would send a repair agent out with it on disc. it seems a little extreme to prevent piracy, but something about dells tech support reminds me of working with federal bureaucracy...

Hope you have your issues rectified before long....
