Greetings - I've got an XPS 1530 in my shopping cart at the Dell/PX site. But, before I click "buy" - I wanted to get some feedback on recent 1530's overall, and especially about the LED LCD. I configured one with T5850/3-Gb, 160-Gb/7200 and Nvidia 8600 for $1165. Any feedback, positive or otherwise, would be greatly appreciated!!

8600Gt is still a problem. for that price, i suggest getting a thinkpad t500. you can get centrino 2 platform, new energy efficient processors , ddr3 ram, switchable graphics with radeon 3650 (which is better than 8600Gt), a massive improvement in battery life with the 9 cell and good build quality. you can also choose a LED screen.

or wait for the xps refresh that is going to occur soon

Good input from both of you - Thanks! I hadn't even considered a Thinkpad - checking now...

i tried configuring a t500 online, it comes up to more than the xps, but its a more powerful spec, and its using the latest technologies, not ones that are about to be phased out like on the xps....personally i think its worth the extra 200....
but anyway the starting price is usd899
