    Hey,

My Sony E series laptop is no more "good", and sony refuses to repair it...

I had a far good experience with dell in their service, so I am considering to purchase either Envy 17 or Dell 15 (Dell 17 isnt available here)

Dell 15 says aluminium back lcd, so does it means that the lcd back outerside body cover is of aluminium?

The area near keyboard and touchpad says aluminium finish... So does it looks like plastic and feels like plastic? or it feels like aluminium when u touch it?

How is touchpad compared to xps 1645?

Does it also over heats like XPS 1645?

In last do u think Dell 15 will be a better choice compared to envy 17?

Yes, both are actually Aluminum, so presumably, feel just like Aluminum when touched. :)

I strongly suggest you avoid the HP Envy 17. I ordered one recently from Amazon, the unit I received would shut down and turn on over and over again on its own (I am guessing it was overheating as it was quite warm). Amazon sent me a second unit, which wobbled on a flat table. The wobbling and heat are both common problems with the Envy 17, just look at the NBR Envy 17 discussion. There are also problems with gaps in the chasis, the buggy "clickpad", and on my unit, the click pad wasn't flush with the palmrest. Overall, HP has very poor quality control with the Envy 17. I returned both and came right back to Dell for an XPS 15 (after selling my SXPS). My experience with Dells QC and customer service was much better than HP.
