    Hey.

I've been wondering about some things about this Dell XPS 1530 before buyng it.

First - Are all 8600M GT's DDR3 in this laptop?
    Second - Should I get an WXGA (1280x800) or WSXGA+ (1680x1050)?
Third - How are the speakers? Loud as Vostro's?

    Thanks. :)

About the 8600 i asked before i ordered and they replied me that it was DDR2
About the screen, WXGA is too low i think. my previous 15.4 was with 1280 and i regretted that i hadn't higher res... 1440*900 looks really better for me.

    Hi Akuma,

    1) I'm pretty sure that all 8600m GTs on the m1530 are GDDR3
    2) To give you another option to choose from I would suggest going with a wxga+ screen, preferably with LED. I've heard people talking about that a wxga+ tends to be the best compromise between wxga and wsxga+. For me personally wsxga+ is a bit too tiny on a 15 inch but that's just my perception ;)
3)Yesterday I had the chance to compare my m1530 speakers with the speakers of an Inspiron 1520 one of my friends has (should be the same as the Vostro speakers I guess) and the 1520 speakers might have been on the same volume level as the m1530 but they didn't sound as crackling as the xps speakers.

Akuma if you are in the UK dell don't currently offer the LED screen on 15" models on their website. Unless they updated it in the last few days.

    If you order 8600!definitely it's DDR3

    Second - Should I get an WXGA (1280x800) or WSXGA+ (1680x1050)?
Up to you! for me WXGA is fine! higher resolution may cause my eyes bleed when surfing the web and with the 8600GT, you wont get much performance in game with WSXGA+ in games! so strongly recommend WSGA. honestly, this is a personal taste so why dont you go to a computer shop in your area and check them out!

Third - How are the speakers? Loud as Vostro's?\
sucks! get a pair of headfone!

    1, Definitely DDR3.
    2, The choice is yours.
3, The same as the Vostro, which isn't saying a lot.
