    Hello,

After thinking about the macbook and the xps m1530, I finally took the great deals available and got the xps.

It is a great notebook, my screen seems to be fine and the build quality seems perfect as of now. (Don't want to jinx anything)

I was wondering, is there a list of things I should do? except downgrading to xp.

    thanks...

I'd say don't downgrade to XP.

Get a Vista Disc and do a fresh installation of it, it should run like lightening lol.

I would probably reformat to clean it up and just keep Vista. Then install your programs and enjoy!

Vista with SP1 will bring the performance straight up to XP SP2. Even for gaming. As a bonus you'll get better security and fancy looking UI.
