Well, a friend of mine just sold me his XPS M1530 for $650. His company moved to IBM/Lenovo products, so the employees received T500s. I'm just excited to get this laptop for so cheap. Currently using an IBM X31.

    Well here are the specs:

    Core 2 Duo T7700 -2.4GHz
    3GB Ram
    120GB 7200 sata
    DVD/RW
1280 x 800 WXGA screen. (how are these screens btw? Most people have the 1440x XXx.)
    Nvidia 8600M - Yeah!
    9-cell battery
    Vista Home Premium

1 year left on dell onsite and 6 months of LoJack.

What do you guys think? And how is this LCD compares to the other one? Now the wait begins. It is getting ship tomorrow.

That seems like a pretty good deal for a used laptop. IMHO the 1530 is still the best budget gaming notebook in the 15" range on the market. The only FPS I play is simple combat arms, but for all my games the 8600 does a great job and I'm sure it will handle anything I need in the next couple years provided the chip doesn't burn out (which is one of the few drawbacks of getting this GPU).

Which brings me to the second drawback of that 1530. My last notebook was 1280x800 and I noticed a big improvement going to a 1920x1200. However, I still find the low resolution perfectly usable and if you aren't repulsed by having slightly less screen space than the 1440s, I wouldn't worry about it.

Overall I would say that you got a really good buy, especially with the 7200rpm HDD if you're comfortable with the size.

That is configured on the budget side but seem like a good deal for the price.
