My fan constantly runs. I updated the Bios. Should I keep updating the drives?
    Also

Is it normal for my battery to never reach 100 percent?
Is Optimus something I can control?
I read somewhere that you can make your laptop not use battery power when plugged in. I was confused when reading this.

    - Are you running applications all the time or is the fan on when the system is idle? What is your ambient room temperature, and your idle/load

    - No your battery should reach 100% at some point in time.

    - Optimus is not under your control.

    - Unplug your battery

My room is cold. And All I had running at the time was Google Chrome. It wasn't doing a thing. Also I had it plugged in and it remained 99%. Now it is telling me that the charger is not right and that it is plugged in but not charging =[ I just received this system today so it would be a shame to have to return it

Mine runs all the time too. Don't notice it most of the time though. I'm in a very cold room right now and it is running on its lowest setting (I think)

Cold isn't a measurement. Get HWmonitor and post your ambient room temperature. We cannot help you without those values.

You might have the RMA the battery to Dell. Grab a known good charger or a known good XPS 15 battery. Unfortunately that is troubleshooting, you actually have to do something.

Well would you rather keep a defective unit or RMA it for a working one? The choice is yours.
