Yeah, or a limitation in the Dell software. Because it works when I'm using my ThinkPad T61 with fingerprint scanner.

I've had the same problem. When I first got my laptop, it worked fine with facebook and all other sites. Then I updated to the latest version of Mozilla Firefox (3.0.1) and all sites that I'd used with the fingerprint scanner stopped working. I had to download some software and stuff for it to work with Firefox 3 but I STILL had a problem with facebook for some reason while everything else was back to normal. I figured out that for SOME reason (who knows why), if you have facebook set to one of your homepages then it won't work. I have no idea. Don't ask me. But ever since I took it off one of my homepages (I have about 4 that open when I open up Firefox), and I go to facebook through bookmarks or by typing in the URL, it works.

I don't know why... It just does.

I have been unable to get the fingerprint reader to work with Firefox 3 at all. The software even states that it will not work with Firefox 3 (not specifically, but says no when you try).

It's not the facebook, it's the firefox 3

Babylon is also acting funny when trying to click on a word in FF3.

So, who would be releasing an update for this then?

There are 34 bugs listed under fingerprint in Bugzilla:

    ozilla.org/buglist.cgi?query_format=specific&order=relevance+desc&bug_status=__open__&content=fingerprint

So the Firefox issues with fingerprint readers are known issues.

    Can't do anything there - IE7 isn't open source.

In order to get Firefox 3 to work with the fingerprint reader, you must update the fingerprint reader software.

    Try this link:

    http://www.upek.com/support/customersupport/techsupport/Topic.asp?ID_Topic=53

If that does not work... I'm sure you can easily google it. You need to first update the fingerprint reader's software and then download an addon for Firefox... Which I believe is supplied by UPEK.

EDIT: I should say you must update the fingerprint reader software if it is not already up to date. Mine wasn't so I had to. Hope this helps though!
