Hey yall, before I ask away I would just like to thank anybody in advance for the time reading this and formulating a reply!

    My setup on laptop is
HDMI port, SVIDEO port, Headphone 1 and 2 jack

im trying to connect visual and audio to my tv whicch has
DVI port, Svideo port, multiple RCA (RYW), hd components (RGB)

what kind of cable am I looking for to do this? my main worry is that my laptop doesnt have a true audio out for speakers, but i would assume that that is why I have 2 labeled headphone jacks. I would be looking for a cable that translates 3.5 aux to RW components and one that also carries a Svideo connector. I'm looking for one cable that can do it all, any suggestions? (It would be so much easier if my tv had a hdmi port... ugh...)

    Welcome to the forum.

HDMI also carries audio, but since your TV only has a DVI input you have to send Audio separately. You should try to connect video digitally (HDMI or DVI) because S-Video has a resolution limitation and VGA/Component might suffer losses due to Digital to Analog + Analog to Digital conversations, electromagnetic interference and signal attenuation.

You need a HDMI to DVI cable for video and 3.5mm to RCA cable for audio. If you have two headphone outs (XPS M1210,M1330,M1530,M1730) that means you can output 5.1 surround sound. In that case you need three 3.5mm to RCA cables for each : front, rear and center speakers (assuming you have a 5.1 audio system). For outputting 5.1 you have to configure the two headphone jacks and microphone jack from audio driver. However, if you just want stereo sound then one cable is enough.
