    Alright, I should be getting my XPS m1330 in a couple of days. I was just wondering about all these heating/screen issues people have been having;

    I ordered the notebook with the nVidia card. I was wondering what would be the best steps to keep the computer in a good state for a few years at least.(1-3 years)

    If you guys could give me advices or links to other topic's for a good way to keep the notebook from having issues I would be very happy.

    Looks pretty complicated. Guess I got no choice. Will I still be on warranty changing that part?

    I have not t done the copper mod - but I have done a couple of things to help minimize thermal issues;

    -installed the latest BIOS update A12
    -if you dont have a 9cell battery go to the office store and pic up a $3 trangular ruler to prop up the back end- you get a better typing angle and improved air flow.

    Normal day to day stuff running almost always between 58-61 degrees.

    you can consider buying a laptop cooler, they typically go for around $20-30.

    I've wouldn't risk.

    just get extended warranty and when it's near it's end, do the mod.

    Yeah I know but being portable doesn't sound good if I have to drag a laptop cooler everywhere I go. Il try finding a sleek one ' ;).
