I came up with this fix ( where all other fix's did not work for me, even taking out the ram) it seems abit fiddley but once its working it works flawlessly (for me anyways)
I originally posted this on a wiki website... but it was deleted and marked as advertising??? was only trying to help as it took me days to fix this, from what i thought would be a quick reinstall of windows...
.
- First of all download and install the CORRECT Realtek Audio Driver (with Maxxaudio3 included) by following the instructons on this post http://forum.notebookreview.com/8386834-post7042.html
.- Head over to Drivers and Downloads | Dell [United States]
.- Download the QuickSet driver for the L702x
.- Run the initial extraction (choose a location you will remember)
.- Install 7zip 7-Zip
.- Go to Quickset location and (depending on architecture) right click quickset32 or quickset64, go to 7zip menu, then extract
.- Create directory "C:/Program Files/Quickset/" and copy all the extracted files to this location
- Make Quickset start everytime you login with ADMIN rights using this method for the quickset.exe Elevated Program Shortcut without UAC Prompt - Create - Windows 7 Forums
.- Now reboot, and when back in windows, try pressing the waves audio sofkey and see if it works.
.- For shortcut softkey run "userbtn.exe" as admin

I hate to throw up this thread that's 3 years old... but I've posted quite a few times the fix for this....
Here's the upload of the fully working distrobutions of quickset 64 and 86, without all the hassle of doing what you had to go through (no offense)

EDIT: and damn me it worked!! all this trouble for nothing xD! you should post this link somewhere, i know it took me now 2 months after getting the problem to get hold of these files!!! -
lol.... I have posted it in the L702x thread, posted it many times in fact, and i repeat the posting over and over and over LOL.....
Also, i created these files myself lol, i didn't get it from anywhere (just edited the non-working file from dell). -

I was struggling with this for a few days... I did get it working, but I couldnt get the middle "touch button" to work, however I found a solution not found on the internet so easily...
I found this file: Driver Details | Dell UK
Which seems is the app for quickset and it installed me for no problem and now everythings working fine again.
Hope it helps anyone else who has having problems with this.
