Have you heard about "massaging" the dead pixels to life?![]()
I assume most people who have a laptop also have a screen cleaning kit?
Remember where the dead pixels are.
Shut down computer.
Spray the cleaning solution on a gentle cloth (that doesn't leave any residue or scratch).
Massage the dead spots gently in circular motions. Go over them with a dry part of the cloth afterward.
Might take more than once but it worked for me so far on 3 computers including the new XPS 15 FHD I bought yesterday.![]()

I've done it before, but I did it in 3 seconds.
Just push lightly and firmly while the screen is on in the area of the pixel.
P.S. I believe these are called "stuck pixels" and the dead ones are the ones that can't be fixed like this. -
You're probably right and they are just stuck and not dead but it seems like people always think they're dead and want to replace the screen.
Bottom line, it works and worth a try
