    Hi,

I would be very grateful for any advice that could help me solve the following problem.

    I have a Dell XPS M1530 laptop.

A few days ago I turned it on and out of the blue noticed what appeared to be a black\brown coloured pixel near the bottom right hand side of the screen. I thought this was effectively a dead pixel and I’d all but given up trying to do something with it. However, I caught the screen a couple of days ago and it moved slightly towards the bottom.

Since then I've managed to move it near the far bottom right by tapping and manipulating the screen slightly. Unfortunately, I now seem to be at a bit of an impasse as I can't seem to move it any further.

Has anyone any idea what this could be (like a particle or something that is actually in the liquid crystal)?

I have thought about taking the screen out to try and clean behind the glass. Before I do, could I do anything else first? Also, by removing the screen, will I not really achieve anything as I may not be able to get directly behind the glass?

If so, is there anything I can do to move it out of view or it is possible that it will disappear on its own accord in time?

    Many thanks in advance
