Like alot of you I don't like the performance of the stock Dell video drivers on my 8600M GT so I want to use the drivers from LTV2go. Problem with those is I run into the issue where the display does not wake from sleep sometimes, the computer is awake but the display stays black.

I have found that the problem occurs most often when I shut the lid to put it to sleep, hitting the power button and leaving the lid open seems to prevent the black screen most of the time. Also in my power settings I changed it so the computer goes to sleep after x amount of minutes but I set the "turn off display" to Never and so far I haven't seen the issue (knock on wood)

So to sum it up I set the laptop to never turn off display (it will go dark when the computer goes to sleep) and I use the power button to put it to sleep and leave the lid up. I was wondering if someone else could give this a try and see if it helps his/her problem as well, also if someone has found a different method please let us know. I really want to use these modded drivers but the dark screen is a real P.I.T.A.

If you're using the 180.42 and above drivers, they seem to be having a lot of problems like you described. Try rolling back to the higher end of the 17x series since they appear to be better than the current drivers offered from laptopvideo2go.
