    GPU Temp

    I have a XPS 1530 with Invida 8600M GT. Under normal load, my GPU temp runs between 57 and 68. When it reaches 68 the fan comes on and lowers the temp to about 57 before the fan shuts down. Is this normal for the chip?

    Yes, but its not as important as your max temps.

    The max that is displayed is 69,,,and again is under normal load, with browser and several other applications open.

    How do you check the temp?
    For that matter how do you check the temps of everything else too? :confused:

    Mine's at 60s under normal useage and 90s when gaming. Hence, I'm trying to cut down on gaming until Nvidia releases those "turn fans on earlier" drivers.

    what kind of games are we talking here? this might sound really stupid but does candystand.com qualify as significant GPU user? this sounds stupid i know. but just want to be sure.
