Hi guys, I'm new here![]()
I'm using the 175.32 drivers for the 7900GTX on my Dell XPS M1710, but was told by a friend that there are better ones out there. On the nvidia website it only gives me Quadra NVS drivers, which I'm told would give worse performance than my current drivers. I use my laptop for gaming, not rendering.
Any other driver suggestions?

Try www.laptopvideo2go.com
They're mostly modded desktop drivers which can cause an increase in the heat genereated, but usually they offer much better performance. -

I have been using this one for a few weeks now never had temp over 85 c.
Don't forget the modded INF. -
If you want to stick with official NVIDIA drivers, why not give their 179.48 a go? Temps are very stable.

+rep to both of you.
By the way, alienmadness, where are you from in Kent? I'm in Bexley. -
That's really odd it wont install since the .inf supports the 7900. Weird.
85c is a bit high IMHO. My 8800 never goes above 75c (and thats when its running in SLI).
You might want to try the X-TremeG 182.06 mobile driver. Temps are really stable and the driver has great IQ (Image Quality). Grab the 182.06m here:

These are the drivers from http://www.tweakforce.com/
There are times when I miss my M1710...I had the black one.

I have the black M1710 as well BTW. -
My bad dude. I just checked the notes on those 179.48 drivers from NVIDIA. It looks like they do not support the 7900GTX card - they support the 7950GTX, but not yours. Sorry.
If the 182.06's are working good and have nice temps - you should be good to go...You might want to keep an eye on those temps - maybe throw a compressed air blast at your fans and heatsink exhaust.
GPU drivers for my XPS M1710?
