ive change the thermal paste of my m1530, before closing the lid up, i forgot to plug in the fan socket, thus leaving my laptop without the fan on. After a while, when i felt the lappy is hot, suddenly i realized i forgot to plug in the fan socket.

however, the damage has been done, according to gpu-z, my gpu temp went up to 93c, and it took 30 minutes for it to increase from 80c to 93c.

so my question is, should i ask for a new mobo although my current mobo is running without any problem?

well, 93 degrees is my actual gpus temp in dual 8700 full load after a few hours of intense gaming, so you needn't worry. Game on!

    "Damage has been done" ?
Are there artifacts everywhere or visible signs of damage, like a blank screen.
If not dell won't replace it, especially considering unplugging the fan cable wouldn't exactly be covered under warranty.

yeah dont worry, just dont forget to plug in the fan again :D

damage can start at about 100C.
93C is not good for normal usage, but certainly within the safe range :D

okay, thx for the info guys.

btw, it's pretty easy to get a mobo replacement from dell, this is my 4th mobo replacemenet, and my 5th mobo had reached my area, the engineer called me to arrange a meeting just now but i had hold it back cuz occupied later.
