    Hi,

I am having a strange problem. When I am using any resolution in certain games below 1920x1080, they stop operating in fullscreen (i.e. they don't Fit To Screen, instead appears cascaded within black borders adjusted to the current resolution.)

This problem is occuring in many games. Anyone faced this issue before with XPS 17?

Check the option in Intel GPU properties. It should be in the "General Settings" tab.

This is a "centered timings" mode, which keeps the pixel-mappings rather than stretches them. The graphics drivers should have a switch for this.

Yes!! I found it. It was in the nVidia control panel under Display->Adjust Desktop Size and Position. I simply changed from "Aspect Ratio" to "Stretched" mode. Thanks DakkonA.

BTW I can't install any Intel Video Driver in my XPS 17. Why is that so? Can anyone please give me a link to the actual driver download for my configuration? It's given in my sig.

    Thanks a lot!

I can't update the driver. It keeps telling me the Error dialog:

"The computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software".

My laptop is the 3-D Version whose graphics is not switchable. Can that be the reason?

That's right. I missed the 3D screen in your sig...you saying you have Optimus threw me off... You DONT have Optimus. Thus no Intel graphics to install. On the 3D screen system, the Intel graphics are hard-wire bypassed. You also don't get quick sync, wireless display, or the other features that come with the Intel graphics.

Dell's literature saying the 3D system has Optimus is to blame...they caught a lot of flak for that and in most places removed that line from the 3D systems, but there are still some out there...
