Hi guys, first post
So, I just got a new Studio XPS 16, these are my specs:
Intel Core i5: 540M, 2.53GHz
4GB RAM 1067MHz
1GB ATI Radeon HD 565v (HD 4670)
When I play TF2 and L4D, I can max out all settings, except AA, at 1920x1080 with about 50 fps but when I try to play WoW at max settings, 1920x1080 I only get about 10 fps, shouldn't these specs be able to max WoW? Or is this the throttling issue? I've already updated to the new BIOS but I am using the 90W adapted. Even when I drop the settings down or the resolution, I still get terrible fps.

You could be experiencing throttling as I am able to max out WoW without an issue. Does the laptop seem quite hot and or is the fan running high?

The fan doesn't get high at all. I would say it gets to about a medium temperature, it is noticeable but not extremely hot; you can tell it's there

maxed out 1920x1080 Tf2??? Maybe you play solo..but try 32player server..i can hardly get 60fps on 1600x900 @ lowest

Hmm... I would try using Rivatuner to make the GPU not underclock itself. I overclocked my 4670 and I have not had any issues with FPS in WoW or any other games for that matter. You don't have to use Rivatuner to overclock the GPU. Just leave it on stock settings, but Rivatuner could help. Just search on here for overclocking the 4670. It will tell you how to set it up and again... you don't have to overclock it if you don't want to. Hope it helps

Your system should be able to run even Crysis at 1920x1080 with most settings on High/Enthusiast and some on Mainstream, along with 2x AA and still get above 25 fps. That is, unless it has dust or something stopping it from running optimally.
