I usually hook my M1530 up to an external LCD to play COD5, does using an external monitor introduce any input lag while the laptop pushes the video out to the monitor? I don't think so as it is like using a desktop and monitor but I wanted to check with you guys anyway.

I wouldn't expect anymore than hooking the monitor up via a desktop computer...
Besides, if you don't feel any input lag, than it's probably fine. Input lag is usually the problem of the monitor anyways, not the computer. -

depends on your monitor, some monitor have input lag while others don't
