Hi there.
I bought my M1530 with a 6cell battery. I also bought another genuine 9cell battery off ebay.
I am currently using only the 6 cell battery, for over a year and a half. It only lasts for about 30-40min now, and the system has given me messages of "battery replacement needed".
This said, I want to buy another one, but Dell.com is very expensive.
On ebay you can find genuine for 60-70$ and "non-genuine" for around 40$
Is it worth the extra 20-30$??
Thanks!

Yes, for $70 I'd get the genuine one, as that is still about half the price as you see on Dell's website. Just make sure it is in fact a new battery and it really is a genuine official Dell battery.

do remember that battery cells die over time even when being stored...
Dell probably guarantees fresh(enough) batteries within a month(that's why there are shortages whenever something happens, like a battery manufacturer fire)...
those eBay batteries may be older and hold lower capacity -
Make sure you don't get scammed on the 9 cell. make sure its new or has little battery wear.

Personally, I would stay with the batt's directly from Dell. But, that's just me.
There are several member's on the forum that have had luck purchasing from Seller's on Ebay.

I ahve seen many laptops that died immediately after adding a 3rd party battery... so I would be warry.

The third party batteries are a hit or miss. I would personally get the battery from Dell. Sometimes they have them on sale.
