Okay so for about 3 weeks now I have been watching the m1530. I am really after one. Unfortunately the one I want is still sitting out of my price range at $1199.99 (that is the one with 2.0 ghz processor, 8600 video card and 2 gig of ram). That's my "dream" machine for the price, but I really need to keep it under $1000. Anyway, I was looking in the notebook/tech bargains and ran across the new deal $799 for a m1530! The only issue is it's the base model (1.5 ghz processor, 8400 video card and 1 gig of ram). Man that's a spectacular deal!
The question is should I wait for the higher end model or should I jump on this and upgrade later (I would just upgrade this model, but it's not upgradable in any of the areas specified). This is my first new laptop purchase and I want to make the right one, however I am scared, because it seems like there are so many coupons popping up lately that I'm afraid that within a few days or so the one I want will finally drop, or the one that's offered right now for the $799 will dissapear.
So what's your thoughts? Does anyone know of any new deals coming down the line? Thanks

Dell always plays with their prices, so dont worry about the price, I would wait for the new processors to come out which will be very shortly. New processors come out about every 18 months, it would be a bad idea to get the older version.

That is wrong. New processors are released way more frequently than that. Santa Rosa processors came out fall last year, then first generation Penryn was announced this month, then Montevina penryns in May. None of those are 18 month differences.

What are you going to use the laptop for? Is a faster processor worth the money invested?
