Just my 2 cents - I wouldn't touch the 1530 at all. Have you considered any other model?

i would recommenced the studio 17, but it looks like you want a smaller laptop.
you see very little improvement in normal tasks (word,internet,video,etc)..
there will be an improvement in gaming (you have a outdated card), and video/photo editing (the more powerfull processor will kick in).

i see, also is there a big differance between these processers?
    2.4 GHZ 800mhz 3MB CACHE
    2.5 GHZ 800MHZ 6MB CACHE

also is there any wrong with the m1530 because is a good price, good spec, thin and light

This has been debated left and right around this forum and many others. There are some people who feel the m1530 is a sound investment and there are others who believe its a risk. I'm sure by posting this I am opening myself up to a flame arena however you did ask so I am giving you my opinion - that is all. You will need to decide for yourself if you want to spend your money on this model.

In the event you are unaware of the issues surrounding some of the NVIDIA mobile GPUs, I suggest you review this thread over @ Dell's blog site. Specifically, this post and this response from Dell.

Does this mean your purchase will fail prematurely? Nobody can answer that. But, ask yourself this: Do I really want to spend my money on something which Dell has admitted has a fault and will not confirm if the fault has been fixed?

Is Dell continuing to ship a product with a faulty GPU? In my opinion, yes they are. Either way, be sure to review all of the information provided in that thread - including the previous posts by Lionel M.

My suggestion - look at another model. Hope this helps.

ok can anybody then recommend any other 15.4 inch notebook that will deliver good gaming performance and arent very expensive like the alienware m15x something around 800-900 pounds sterling
and that looks good(not sager or gateway imo)
