I'm considering on purchasing the M1330 (best configuration) but I'm a bit hesitant considering the heating problems found in models purchased 3-8 months ago.

Anyone bought an M1330 recently? How is it holding up so far?

AFAIK, they haven't redesigned/changed the cooling to deal with the heating issue. (I hope I'm wrong)

I just had the mobo replaced after 7 months of use.

    Hey Hybr1dz,
My M1330 is about a month old or so and I always prop it on top of four posts an inch high, when I boot her up'. No heating problems at all.

When I am at a clients place at times the laptop must be on a desk or softer surface and it does get warm but common sense goes a long way.

I have no problems to speak of with my purchase and I sympathize with the people who had difficult times before me.

Got mine about a month ago - with the 9 cell battery (so its propped up a little from the back).
    No problems at all.

You might want to grab it by tomorrow because there is a nice sale going on.

Thanks for all your input! I still have to think it over though. Through Dell's education program, I think that deal is pretty much perpetual. The Asus U6Sg-A1 is the other laptop I'm considering which costs around the same as the maxed out M1330 after discounts and taxes.

I tried looking this up but I guess it varies by configuration. What comes with the M1330 in the box standard? If I purchase the M1330 with the 9 cell, do I also get a 3 or a 6 cell battery as well?
