    Hi guys,
Im excited to say I've finally got the m1330

I'll upload a quick review/ pics after a few hours

    one thing though:

I think I might have gotten one w/ an issue on the side. I've seen this in many m1330 though, would like to ask if I should 'return' because of this:

    Thanks guys!

Try to click it in. It may just pop back into place. It looks like the top XPS plastic may be up.

aw jeez. i'm worried. i occasionally hear this high pitched sound from where the headphone jack is.

Is this the infamous cpu whine?
what can i do to prevent it?

No the CPU whine is located rear left. Give it a bit...let the system break in .... And sit a normal distance away.

I picture you with the Sherlock Holmes magnifying glass 2 inches from the system.

hahah. I'm practically doing that, except i don't have a magnifying glass.

So you don't think its cpu whine?

NO not in that location. If you put your ear to the rear left of the bottom and here a morse code type squeal...thats it...which would surprise me as they sorted that out.

Wait... I thought the noise I'm hearing, in the front right, near the fingerprinter reader, was the CPU whine. It does go away with RMClock, before it freezes of course... Is this something else?

its not an HDD issue, I am getting the same whine with the hard drive that came with the laptop, and with the new 7.2k HD I put in.

dang. I was hoping it was. He's already sending a new hd to me.
It actually doesn't sound like the video i put up ealier, it now just sounds like a straight high pitched tone that comes in an out occasionally.

    anyways...
    enjoying your m1330? sickZ? lol

I think the center control panel (black plastic panel with media and power buttons) is screwed up in most M1330s, Check out my first impressions thread for similar problems. I didnt return it because rest of the notebook was pretty good.

No CPU whine, at least not audible from a normal working distance. But if I press my ear against the left side of the keyboard, I can hear a faint whine, but that is nothing compared to my previous whiny M1210 ;) .

I just realized something. When I go 'power saving' mode, the high pitched sound stops. high performance mode has the high pitched tone.

GOD damn, I hope this isn't cpu whine.
